2007 Conference Feedback

Every year ASLTIP holds it's AGM alongside a conference which addresses CPD issues and business concerns. IN 2007 we had 85 Therapists attending.

Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to feedback comments about the AGM in Northampton on 3 March 2007.

An excellent study day. Great venue, excellent speakers - all very smoothly run. Well done to all involved.

Great venue. Nice food (but need some hot vegetarian food Sat lunch). Liked having small group sessions. Friday entertainment was fun; next year perhaps something similar but not too long. Made a great difference finishing at 4 on Saturday rather than later, made journeys better. Would like to have a delegate list next time. Many thanks for a really good conference.

Overall it was great - congratulations to Julie. Felt it was a bit naughty that a commercial encroached on Anna's time, and a pity the Cerebra man was a bit 'lost' at the end - particularly as Cerebra propose to put 50k into SLT next year and they use ASLTIP therapists!!! Otherwise a real success. Thought the AGM was motivating and the talks I chose very useful and inspiring.

I would like to ditto Joans comments I thought you did a fabulous job keeping everything on the move and being so hands on. The hotel was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Just a couple of things: I think ASLTIP as an organisation should have had its presence felt visually ie via banners headed paper a bit like your friend Peter did in his talk. As he said when in business we should be talking ourselves up and not be shy. The exec should in future place themselves directly in front of the Conference delegates and not to one side. I think we needed a plenary session to end the day in a joined up way ie drawing the threads of talks and discussions and the AGM should be in the centre of the main day.

Otherwise it was a very good conference well done

Thank you for a great conference. The hotel was very good, central location appreciated. Speakers were excellent with a good mix of clinical and professional issues. Please continue to include clinical issues - it is so good to come away with new ideas for therapy. Also the stands were available throughout, which meant plenty of time to look as well as talk. Thank you for all the hard work organising it.

Such a useful conference. As I had my morning bath I found myself 'reflecting' on how 'Brief-Solution focussed Therapy' was integral to the work I would be doing this morning - now just how sad can you get! I've racked my brains to think of a way of improving on it. Thinks! Those gongs. Fine as identity if one is challenged but useless as an aide to introductions. Gazing at someones navel is not conducive to social introduction. Can we go back to something at chest height? Many thanks to everybody for ensuring such a happy, positive and constructive atmosphere.

Great hotel except food was not nearly enough on the Saturday evening. I would have preferred more time to chat during the meal instead of entertainment. Conference dinner was far too expensive! Speakers all excellent- rather abrupt end, however. A delegate list would be useful.

Hotel staff polite and very helpful. On time with food and drink. Room quality excellent both for sleeping and meetings, relatively easy to get to, I drove. Speakers all excellent highly informative, timing worked well for arrival, departure, sessions and catching up with other SLT's 10/10

Just wanted to record my thanks for a splendid conference. I thoroughly enjoyed it and really feel I've learned a great deal in short time, particularly about the role of the HPC. Also, it was terrific value for money. Thanks to all the organizers for their hard work. It's much appreciated.

A personal big thank you to you for all your hard work organising a really splendid conference. The venue was superb and the mix of speakers and exhibitors really interesting. It was good also to have the dinner so well organised - though I have to say i felt my age in the quiz!!

I think the conference was highly successful and greatly took us forward as an organisation. I thought the hotel had an exceptionally high level of customer service and really enjoyed it all. Thanks to Julie and all other organisers.

Very good conference- thanks.Good to share with one another in formal and -informal situations-(boogie-mode especially) -could we rotate workshops for greater sharing of info? -name badges on chest? -move around table between courses-integrate more at dinner? -baby lovely, but distracting(sensory integration issues) Thanks again for the hard work!

Big thanks from me too for a great weekend. Well done, Julie for excellent organisation and good choice of venue.

Really great conference, excellent speakers, venue and organisation. Thanks Julie. One thought for next time, perhaps an introductions section for members of the panel,so as to put names to faces. Members might consider it's worth getting together as a group of ASLTIP members more frequently and paying for some good organised training as we experienced last weekend?

A great day. I really enjoyed it! Super venue, good speakers and lots of information - just the right balance. Good idea to keep AGM separate. Well done Julie.

A fantastic ASLTIP AGM - everything worked so well. Thank you. ps I would be interested in any feedback given on the workshop I presented! Thank you.
