Speech Therapy

Billy is 6 years old

He is not coping with the curriculum in school and seems to have particular difficulties with reading, writing, listening and attention. Billy is assessed immediately and the assessment indicates above average understanding of language but speaking skills at the lower end of the normal range for his age. Billy's articulation was also assessed and was found to be normal for his age. He is also being assessed by an independent psychologist to address the attention difficulties. Therapy was able to commence immediately, working on listening, attention, memory and helping him to understand how grammar affects the meaning of what he hears. He also worked on language processing skills e.g. rhyming and segmenting words. Therapy is currently ongoing and Billy's progress will be reviewed soon after 6 months of therapy.
